Only after 1992 the Upper Mustang Tekking was officially unlocked by the then His Majesty’s Government of Nepal. Only limited numbers of tourists are allowed to trek in this region to protect the local Tibetan culture and the delicate environment. This trek unfolds  the legendary and barred Kingdom’s valleys, canyons, yak caravans, colorful mud brick houses on the lap of mesmerizing mountains of Nilgiri, Tukche, Annapurna and Dhaulagiri.

This trek can be done even in rainy seasons as this is the rain shadowed zone. In monsoon the region blooms by the contrast with wind eroded hills, red cliffs, White Mountains and busy villagers on their work. Upper Mustang Trek unfolds the mediaeval walled kingdom of Lo Manthang.
